Good to know
Signing proves integrity and originA valid signature means the file has not changed since signing and matches the signer's key. A failed check means one of those is no longer true.
Your private key is yours to guardAnyone with your private key can sign as you, and losing it means you cannot. Keep it safe and never share it.
A technical signature, not a legal serviceThis proves integrity and origin cryptographically. Whether that counts as a legally binding e-signature depends on your jurisdiction and a qualified provider.
