Good to know
Low, Medium or HighLow barely touches quality — keep it for anything you'll print. High squeezes hardest and is meant for on-screen reading and quick drafts. Medium sits in between.
Most of the weight is imagesScans and photos are stored in far more detail than a screen shows; compression drops that excess and the leftover metadata. That's where the savings come from.
Text-only PDFs barely shrinkIf a file is mostly text it's already small, so don't expect much — that's normal, not a fault.
