Good to know

Credits do the weightingA grade in a 4-credit course counts more than the same grade in a 1-credit one. That is why a plain average of grades is usually wrong.
Scales differ between schoolsThis uses the common 4.0 scale, but plus and minus grades, weighted honours classes and the exact points per letter vary by institution. Check your school's chart.
4.0 is not universalMany countries grade on other systems, like a 5.0 scale, percentages or a UK classification. A converted GPA is an approximation, not an official equivalent.
Pass/fail and transfers varySome courses carry no grade points, and transfer credits may or may not count. Follow your registrar's rules for those.
