Good to know
Off and back on are not equalA 20% discount then a 20% increase does not return the original price, because each percent is taken of a different base. This catches people out.
Know the baseA percent is always of something. Be clear whether the change is of the original or the new figure, or the answer drifts.
Tax included or addedSome prices already include tax, others add it at the till. Decide which before you compute, since it changes the total.
Rounding shows at the centsPercent results often have long decimals; round only the final money figure so the cents add up.
